Start the day with breakfast, conversation and practical insights. Held concurrently, these business-hosted sessions give delegates the opportunity to explore a topic relevant to their farm, hear industry perspectives and ask questions in a relaxed setting. Each session will offer useful ideas and key learnings to take back to the business.
Sessions hosted by GEA Farm Technologies, Evans & Partners and Halter on Thursday morning.
GEA Farm Technologies Session:
Less Grind. More Milk.
Practical ways to take the hard work out of milking.
Join GEA for breakfast and a practical conversation about the everyday jobs technology can make easier.
From repetitive milking tasks and labour pressure to cow management and better use of data, we’ll look at what automation can change on farm, what still needs people, and where farmers can get more value from every working day.
Because smarter milking isn’t about adding more technology. It’s about making the work simpler and the information more useful.
Evans & Partners Session:
Evans & Partners Farming is cyclical by nature. Seasonal conditions, milk prices, input costs, interest rates and global demand can all shift quickly, and the effects often flow through to both farm income and the value of the land, herd and equipment at the same time. For many dairy families, most of their wealth sits within the farm business, which means the same cycle that drives a difficult season can also affect the value of their largest asset. This breakfast session from Evans & Partners will look at how farming families can build an off-farm asset position over time, so that some of their wealth sits in investments that are less tied to the agricultural cycle. We’ll cover the role of superannuation, diversified investment portfolios across asset classes and regions, and the value of having accessible capital outside the business. We’ll also discuss how a broader asset base can support retirement and succession planning. The aim is not to replace the farm as a core asset, but to complement it with investments that respond to different economic drivers.
